Emesha is strong, sexy and eco-friendly
Designer Emesha is catching the fashion world’s attention with her Autumn/Winter 2010 line. Emesha creates gorgeous, romantic pieces with enough of a masculine edge to keep her wearers feeling strong, confident and beautiful. With her visual clash of clean crisp lines and elegantly draped tailoring, UK based Emesha is sure to gain the attention of fashionistas worldwide.
When looking at this line I can’t help but be reminded of the fashion shift of the late ‘20sthat came on the heels of the woman’s rights movement. Here we saw icons like Coco Chanel challenge the idea of what a woman should be and how she should look and dress. Emesha’s styles, like Chanel’s, successfully deviate from the mainstream and make wearers and viewers rethink and redefine their ideas about what is masculine and what is feminine.
Founder Emesha Nagy graduated from the London College of Fashion and was selected to show her graduate collection at the Swatch Alternative Fashion Week in London. After a flood of great reviews, Emesha hit New York where she was dubbed as “The One to Watch” at Nolcha Fashion Week.
Emesha pieces are not only head-turning, they are also socially and environmentally responsible. “Fast fashion has created a disposable mentality in consumers, it has diminished the appreciation for the art and quality of fashion, as well as an understanding of the work and process involved in crafting apparel, Emesha says, ” I see the impact fashion has, by its sheer global scope, on the environment. I want to be part of the change needed in the industry to look for new resources and processes that do not have a negative impact on our planet.”
The designer is fully committed to green efforts and developed her entire collection as well as her business on sustainable materials and environmentally ethical principles. The fabrics used are 100% natural and fully bio-degradable. The brand’s mission is to always source new eco-friendly fabrics and use sustainable materials as much as possible.
